Just did get my computer set up today. Still a lot of unpacking to do of mom's stuff. Mine is mostly still stored in the garage. I'm still looking for a permanent place of my own, I didn't get the first townhouse I bid on and the market is really tight down here.

I would have thought if you were moving to your retirement home, you would have purchased it before moving? :scratch:

It's complicated... Basically my mom sold her house and put the proceeds into the family trust. She bought my sisters house where we all are living. A portion of the rest of the money goes to buy mine, with the mortgage she took out to buy the first house being paid off. So I couldn't buy anything before the move since that was the day the house closed, and the market in Raleigh is so rough houses go on the market on Friday and are sold by Monday.

That means too many people moving there... Same here in Colorado, and because of it, the prices are through the roof. Good if you want to sell; not buy. 😥

Yep, it will work itself out though. Looked at another townhouse today, too many stairs. I can go up them, but I have a real problem carrying things when I do, I still have problems with stairs from the stroke a while back. this one had around 10 to get into the house. Getting things like groceries in would have been really tedious.

I'd say look at ranch homes (no stairs), but I glanced at the price range for Raleigh - wow. :sadworld:

I bought a town house. Closing is tomorrow, furniture arrives July 1. It's about 10 minutes away from my sisters house. Once I get moved in I should have time to spend on this place.
