Emma gets off at kurfürstenstraß on the U-Bahn train in Berlin, looking for the address of her job interview.

Emma has been in Germany for 45 days as a visa-free American citizen. She is running out of money. A woman she met and fell in love with in Munich told her to go to Berlin and look for her uncle who can make an arrangement for her to make enough money while she waits for her work visa. She told Emma to hand her passport to her, so she can start making Emma's work visa application. Emma trusted her.

Love can cause a person to do some crazy things. Big mistake giving her passport to anyone, I fear something bad might happen.
 
Mia's uncle, Otto owns a strip club in the so called Redlight District in Berlin. Mia only told Emma her uncle has a business in Berlin and there are some vacancies above his "store". Emma had no idea about the areas of Berlin. But as soon as she came up above the ground, she couldn't help the seedy impression, getting the idea what the area was all about. She started to feel a little nervous.

She saw a strip club neon sign at the address. She remembered how she felt when she stood at he starting line of the swimming contest in the middle school. At the entrance, the bouncer asked her ID. She realized she didn't have the passport. She showed him the driver's lisence from the State. "Oh, you must be the friend of the owner's niece! He's expecting you!"

The bouncer must have notified Otto. A small bespectacled older man with a disarming smile in a casual sweater waved at her as soon as she entered the lounge area after a dimly lit hall way.
