VPNs Aren't What They Seem...

There are a number of sites blocking VPNs at this point, and as a site owner I can tell you why: a large number of connections coming over them are BOTS.

And VPNs are labeled that way, so all I can advise is to do what I do: Only use the VPN in places where you need it. I use Proton VPN also, and it is very easy to turn it off and on.

You can't use them for any financial site, I regularly have to turn it off when I am using banking or brokerage services.
 
I am on PIA. To log in to DA, I have to temporarily switch it off, but once I am in, it works with the VPN on.

I had a nasty feeling that was the case.

I wonder how long until a VPN arrives whose USP is that they don't send the VPN flag?

I also had problems so I set the VPN to London and I seem to be able to log into banks and betting sites OK (although it would have done me a favour if it had stopped me putting the last few days bets on...)

I am not touching VPN's. not sure they can reven run on this PC (which is an obsolte Windows 7 m achine made in 2010) and the government is threatening to make thier use illegal regardless.
 
I've tried several VPNs including Ghost VPN, Nord VPN, and others. They were pretty bad. lol Proton VPN is good, but I decided to lower my tier with them. I now use Mega VPN. I've used mega.nz cloud for years. I have something like 8TB storage with my plan. They came out with a VPN last year and I get it for free since I'm already a paid member.

Not sure how it compares, or even how to check that it's "working", but I like it, and I trust that I am protected. It is simple, has a no BS interface, loads quick, isn't bloated with un-needed features, and rarely disconnects. Plus, every site runs super fast. I have it run when my system boots up.

They are an off shore private company (located in New Zealand).
