The one downside of leaving Windows for Mac is being unable to render AI locally. Most apps and models are Windows-only. The only Mac app I'm familiar with is called Diffusion Bee, but support for it is lackluster and its UI is unintuitive. Consequently, I've had to relegate myself to web-based services. Unfortunately, the best AI model I've found isn't free or NSFW, so I've had to be extra-creative and think outside the box to come up with text prompts that won't return ToS alerts. Nevertheless, it will not generate nudity and provocative clothing is a no-no.
The model I'm referring to is Google's Imagen 4, and it's available on Krea.ai with a subscription. Krea isn't news to most anyone here who uses AI, but to those of you not familiar with it, their Basic plan is $10/month which only allows 126 image generations using Imagen. If you run out, you can buy additional compute packs for as little as $4.99 for 2,000 compute units. Each Imagen image costs 114 units, and Krea generates two images at a time with that model, so I wound up spending an extra $130 so I could experiment with ideas. The cost has been worth it though, because Imagen is the only model I've found anywhere that offers the most accurate prompt adherence and highest visual quality I've seen without a ControlNet or inpainting - I understand Krea offers a ControlNet interface via their RealTime generation mode, but I've yet to learn how to use it. Thankfully, a very close friend - he's like a brother - was generous enough to gift me a year's subscription to Krea Max for my birthday, which offers nearly 2,000 Imagen images/month for $575/yr ($48/month), so now I've got plenty of time and units to play with.
I'll start posting work in the AI galleries soon.
