Otto's Weird Music Thread

If you ever hear a helicopter flying low towards you playing this music, then you.... RUN!!!

Alternatively, if you ever want to invade somewhere, play this to your troops as you are marching in to battle...

One of those tunes that is more strange than weird.

Bet everyone has heard this one before, but nobody quite knows a lot about it, like who wrote it and when...

There's a story behind this one. A guy I worked with in programming owned a Record Store across the street from Syracuse University back in the 1970's. He of course stocked a lot of albums college students of the day listened to, and one such artist was Harry Nilsson. Now old Harry had a couple of chart topping hits off his previous 7th album, Nilsson Schmilsson (1971), so when the new record, Son of Schmillson came out, He just plopped it on the record player and blasted out of the speakers he had facing the University without listening to it first. All went well until this song came up...

What was the problem? I thought that strong words hysteria started much later? When I was in the USA in the early 80th there was motherfucking fuck you’s everywhere. Well, maybe it just was a military or Texas thing.

PS:
Ups, just did some research. The FCC / Seven dirty words thing already happened in the 70th.

And, of course, this Eric Idle classic is age restricted by Youtube :sneaky:

No music in this one but it addresses the issue

George Carlin of course, the seven words you can't say on television. And bizarrely enough it doesn't seem to be age restricted on YouTube

But yeah, it was the 1970's

"Death Metal" eh? They've got a following and are a successful band, but, well.... OK, I'll give it a day and listen to them again.
I listen to quite a bit of "death metal". All of it is weird, most of it is too weird to post here. Rivers of Nihil aren't so extreme, but the vibes they give off never really matched their music. I was surprised to see what these guys looked and acted like after hearing their music. Great music though, if you can acquire a taste for it :P
