Poll is about your favorite, feel free to discuss your least favorites too, I know I have mine. And lets not compare Windows to anything else in this thread, start another thread for O/S comparisons if you want.

Also I left a couple of versions along the way out, they sucked, but it wasn't outstanding sucking. NT 4.0 for example

And the poll ending at Windows 7 was strictly a system issue, I ran out of space for options. It does not reflect my opinion on 8, 10 (The ^cough* last Windows O/S according to MicroCrap at the time) and Windows 11.

With the exception of 8 of course, that totally sucked.

Oh Windows 7 for me, which as you say is a revised up-graded and de-bugged Vista. Works fine for me, I will be sorry to finally see it depart even though it stopped being updated a good two years ago.

I actually had a good experience with Vista, but so far my best experience is with 10.

I am pissed now though, just found out that MS is getting rid of all the bypasses to be able to use a local account with W11. I have ZERO interest is using an MS login or any of their services! I just want the OS, WTF!?

I'd vote, but Win11 isn't on the list, which probably makes me an outlier anyway.

Truth be told, I built my current 3yr-old PC with a mobo specifically chosen to future-proof Windows by making sure the one I bought was Win11-compatible, and logging into my MS account during setup wasn't any skin off my nose. I couldn't have cared less, and quickly found myself enjoying the convenience.

I set all my machines up with a Microsoft account and then immediately switched them over to local admin, it's easy enough to do and this will not stop it. Even if you want to use your Microsoft account to log in I would still strongly setting up a local admin account because if you lose control of your Microsoft account your machine is bricked, and you can't even recover with a backup because the problem wasn't anything on your machine.

All I can say is Microcrap is merely looking at what Apple and Google are doing with their closed stores, and going "Hey, we want to be slapped around by regulators too! We miss those days!"

And I would point out you've needed an Apple Account to set up any Apple device since about the beginning of time.

As I mentioned, it isn't on the list because polls have a limited amount of responses, and I ran out of them. I still liked the user interface on 7 better, but 11 would be my second choice.
