Tentacle in the Mist

I was watching a kill count from the TV series The Mist the other day when one particular death inspired the idea for this piece. Try as I did, I couldn't get Nano Banana to render a .38 revolver, so my character was packing some heat when she was grabbed.

Also, Comic Life 3 inexplicably stopped displaying certain PNG files in its Folder panel. My last resort for a solution was to reinstall it, but now I can't even do that thanks to Windows Security. I wrote Plasq's tech support but haven't heard back, so CL3 has been removed from my workflow for now.

Here's the scene that inspired the image below. The link should start at the timestamp:

The Story

Mrs. Voss decided to brave the mist and return home to her family in the faint hope that they were still alive. She readied her gun, nervously stepped outside the grocery store, and was grabbed from above by an enormous tentacle. The rest of the store patrons watched in horror as she was whisked away.

I'm surprised Gemini didn't give you a water pistol. But of course it makes sense that Jamie Lee Curtis would carry a Magnum. The girl doesn't fuck around with some pea shooters.

You can add pictures directly to Comic Life from file folders, they don't need to come from its folder library. I never use that. Just drag and drop the way you would any other file transfer between folders.

Good to know, though I wish I'd known before I removed it. I shopped around for alternatives yesterday, but CL is the only one designed for drag-and-drop simplicity.
As far as I know, and I have looked extensively, there is no other program that does vector word balloons, CL is it I'm afraid, but it does a really good job at what it's designed for.

On reinstalling a program windows 11 doesn't like, there is an option to tell windows security to fuck off and install the program anyway. It will go off in a corner and sulk, but fuck it.

When I was installing my AI assist pose program windows raised a stink, but I could tell it on that screen to install anyway. I can't recreate the problem, and I don't want to chance uninstalling comic life to see what happens when I try to reinstall, I use it too much.

Not much on the Internet about it, the other suggestion is to try installing it as administrator (right click on the file to bring up the options menu)

Have you checked to make sure it is completely uninstalled, including registry entries?
Just deleted two plasq entries from the registry. Also learned how to tweak a couple of group policy settings that finally displayed an Unblock option under the General tab of the download file's Properties, rebooted, and tried running it is an admin again after checking the Unblock box.

No dice.

I'm starting to think I may have to reset my PC...
