Greetings to all.
As some of you may have noticed, I haven't been uploading any new 3D art to the site. A few weeks ago we (my family and I) experienced a power outtage at around 9:30pm central time. We contacted the company that implements repairs (Oncor) and got a recorded response that a major outtage was affecting our area and there were over 200 customers currently without power. The estimated time for power restoration was 1:30am. The power wasn't restored until 5:30am. When the power was restored, the AC no longer blows cold air and my laptop computer would no longer power up. It took a week for the realty company I lease my home from to send someone out to fix the AC (in Texas summer with a daily temperature of 95F).
I was able to dig out my old desktop computer and get it up and running enough to get my work done but it has none of my 3D programs on it (Daz Studio, Poser, Blender, etc.). I was able to order a replacement motherboard and battery for my laptop computer and after installing the unit now powers up again but it won't let me log in. The facial recognition recognizes me and says Hello (my name) but just goes into a constant loop of repeating itself over and over again. As expected, my windows hello pin has to be reset because the new motherboard activates built in security protection. I try clicking on the "reset my pin" button link but it does nothing. I then tried to log in using a password but for the life of me I can't remember what it was since I don't log in with it. I tried clicking the "forgot my password" link and it brings up 3 security questions which I thought I knew the answers to but that's not working either. I tried using my desktop computer to log into my microsoft account and changing my password there but it still doesn't allow me to log into my laptop.
Since the old motherboard wasn't able to power up off of the ac power input, I decided I would charge up the new battery off the new motherboard then replace that with the old motherboard and power it up off the battery in hopes of being able to reset my login credentials but it also does the same thing now as the new motherboard. My last effort to try and solve this dilema is this: I printed out my document where I keep passwords written in. This is about ten pages. I'm going to try each of the passwords one at a time and hope one of them works as I tend to use alot of the same passwords for various accounts. If this doesn't work I might have to start searching for some hacking utility that will defeat the windows log in security.
