Otto's Weird Music Thread

A weirdness classic

I remember that song, I never knew there was a video of it. The 60's were a hotbed of weird music. I think drugs had something to do with it :ROFLMAO:

All I can say is with flapping clothing around an open flame he either had fire retardant materials or got very lucky...

I keep going back to "Die Antwoord" much as I hate to say it. Their music is catchy even though watching their videos makes your skin crawl. Sort of like this guy.

I grew up listening to Marilyn Manson so I never thought of him as weird, then I saw you post one this in your weird music thread, thought about it for 2 seconds and realized yeah, that dude is WEIRD weird.
Don't think this is half as weird as Manson, but if we're doing 90's industrial metal then NIN deserves a mention at least:

Yeah, I thought Mechanical Animals was a great album, I listened to it all the time. Manson though is a sick pup. And I listened to a number of shock bands before and after him, Alice Cooper, Frank Zappa, Kiss, Gwar, even Slip Knot, Manson stood out as redefining weirdness.

Most of these guys, when they stepped off stage, looked and acted normal (even Zappa). Not Brian Hugh Warner, he sort of lived the part.

Trent Reznor undoubtedly made weird videos, as well as producing a iconic music set for Quake which eventually was released independent of the game in 2020.

Bill McClintock on the subject:

And DJ Cummerbund weighs in:

NIN is one of my favorite bands ever. Saw them live in 2013. First big show I ever went to. Reznor also does a lot of music scores for movies nowadays as well as producing an album with pop artist Halsey:
I also really like Gwar and Slipknot. Though I never really thought of Slipknot as weird either. Weird to me is more like Mr. Bungle:
Though I'm probably just a weird guy thinking all that stuff was normal, most people I hung out with also listened to that kind of music, well aside from Mr. Bungle. :P

This one is worth listening to, if only to try and work out what the heck it is about...

Bloke sounds as though he has stomach-ache throughout

You can't see it because it's off frame, but someone is actually just punching him in the balls anytime he tries to sing
